Education is every child’s right. But for children with a disability, it is a right that is often denied. Sabine is one of the lucky few. Her local school encourages children with a disability to attend, and helped support her when she got the surgery that now allows her to walk to school.
United Nations studies show that only 1-2% of persons with disabilities in developing countries receive an education (UNESCO; 1998).
