Early intervention

If found early enough, club foot can be treated non-surgically with a simple plaster cast. Left too long, it requires more costly orthopaedic surgery. With community education, early detection can save not just money, but years of a child living with impairment and disability.

To prevent disability, we must understand the causes. In most parts of the world, many causes of disability relate to poverty (Werner; 1988).
