First trip outside in 30 years

Ruci is unable to sit and needed a specially adapted wheelchair to leave her single-room home. The Community Rehabilitation Assistants take her on her first trip out of the house in 30 years. The smiles suggest the event is significant for all involved. Training of Community Workers like these is already resulting in significant changes for people with a disability and their families in this community.

A healthy population is one of the building blocks of growth (Alexander Downer; 2006).
