Water supply and sanitation is one of the basic needs of every person. It is an essential part of everyday life and barriers preventing people with disabilities from accessing water and sanitation facilities can cause substantial stresses both for themselves as well as for care-takers or family members.

Access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation (WASH) is a human right. These essential services underpin human development and transform lives, enabling people to overcome poverty.
