More Than Words, reveals children have their own ideas about rights – what they are, why they are important and how they impact on their lives.
We asked people what this annual day means to them….”It’s a day to celebrate the work of Disabled People’s Organisations in developing countries that are working hard to remind governments that people with disabilities have the same rights to access work, school, church and social and community life as everybody else.”
The MDGs cannot be achieved without the full and effective inclusion of persons with disabilities and their participation in all stages of the MDGs processes. The current MDGs framework, tools and mechanisms provide several opportunities to mainstream disability in the MDGs.
