New Fact Sheet on Gender Based Violence.

The Australian Disability and Development Consortium (ADDC) has been collaborating with its members and partners to ensure the voices of people affected by gender based violence (GBV) are heard.

ADDC is supporting the ‘White Ribbon Day’ campaign as disability markedly increases the risk of gender based violence. We request your support to be involved.

ADDC has developed a Fact Sheet on Gender Based Violence to encourage awareness and advocacy on the issue.

“All for Development” event Parliament House June 21st 2011

ADDC, in partnership with ACFID, had the pleasure to host the Australian launch of the World Report on Disability. This event was held as a luncheon in Parliament House in Canberra on June 21^st 2011.

The event was also an opportunity to launch the latest edition of the Development Bulletin No 74. Implementing disability-inclusive development in the Pacific and Asia’.

We were privileged to have amongst our distinguished guests 35 Members of Parliament, the representatives from Federal and State government, Universities, NGO’s and our Membership.

Disability and Development Research Agenda for Asia and the Pacific

In August 2010, as part of the ADDC Conference program, CBM Australia commissioned a team from the University of Sydney and RMIT University to undertake a short term project to report on research priorities in disability and development in Asia and the Pacific region, and on research capacity development.

The project was conducted over a five week period by way of desk-based reviews, followed by semi-structured interviews with key personnel who attended the Australian Disability and Development Consortium (ADDC) Conference on Disability-inclusive Development in Darwin, 14^th-17^th September, 2010.

Data for the project were also collected at the Research Roundtable held at this Conference. This Summary brings together the findings from these components and presents recommendations for consideration in developing a disability and development research agenda for Asia and the Pacific.
