International Day Activity Toolkit
International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPD) aims to raise awareness and promote action around the rights of people with disability and their full inclusion in society. This year it is on Thursday, 3 December.
IDPD poses a unique opportunity to work with your organisation to celebrate disability and raise awareness of disability inclusion issues. ADDC is keen to support disability inclusion champions within INGOs to use IDPD as an opportunity to celebrate and share the voices of people with disability and raise awareness of the need for focused efforts and resourcing on disability inclusive development.
To assist with this we have developed this IDPD Activity Toolkit for the international development sector. This steps you through ideas for how to celebrate IDPD in your organisation, including our social media Call to Action. It also includes tips on how to find resources to share, how to get leadership involved, and tips for engaging a speaker with a disability.
In late November 2020, we will follow this toolkit up with an IDPD Resource Pack, which will be jam-packed full of content you can share through your IDPD activity – including case studies, social media that can be adapted for your org, social media banners and assets and disability and development facts and statistics. The resource pack will also link to CBM’s 2020 IDPD video, which features people with disabilities speaking about their vision for a more inclusive world.
